Even though my boys are big now my heart remembers those early days when we would sit and read picture books together. They never seemed to tire of them and would often ask us to read the same books over and over again. These are a few of my favorites.

This year my children and I had the opportunity to study the amazing human brain in a homeschool anatomy class. The complexity of the human body and brain only testified and revealed to us that our God is awesome and a wonderful designer. The following information is weird but interesting. 1. You may not love anyone or anything more than you love God.

10. You may not be jealous of what others have. You may not be jealous of your friend’s new toy or clothes or the big house your neighbor lives in. Be satisfied with what you have.

Happiness is a habit, a by product of right thinking and living.
1. Live a simple life. Be temperate in your habits. Avoid self-seeking and selfishness. Make simplicity the keynote of your daily plans. Simple things are best.

4. Cultivate a yielding disposition. Resist the common tendency to want your own way. See the other’s viewpoint.
5. Be grateful. Begin the day with gratitude for your opportunities. Be glad for the privilege of life and work.
6. Rule your moods. Cultivate a mental attitude of peace and goodwill.
7. Give generously. There is no greater joy in life than to render happiness to others by means of intelligent giving.
8. Work with right motives. The highest purpose of your life should be to grow in spiritual grace and power.
9. Be interested in others. Divert your mind from self-centeredness. In the degree that you give, serve and help, you will experience the by product of happiness.
10. Live in a day tight compartment. That is live one day at a time. Concentrate on your immediate task. Make the most of today.

The Attorney General of the United States Eric Holder recently stated publicly that banning homeschooling would not be a violation of our fundamental rights. Perhaps he should be considering banning public school teachers unions instead. Did you know that New York City just announced that 80% of their high school graduates could not read near their grade level? They needed “remedial reading” just to enter community college! In my adopted hometown of Las Vegas, newspaper headlines recently reported that over 2/3 of high school sophomores couldn’t pass a basic math exam.
Meanwhile, since 1999 homeschooling has increased by 74% and homeschool students score 72 points above the national average on the SAT. This is not an anomaly.
My new book, “The Ultimate Obama Survival Guide” is about investments anyone can make to survive, thrive and prosper during the next 4 years of Obamageddon. But the most important investment of all is in your children’s future. A quality education will determine their success or failure, as well as their earning power for the rest of their lives. In my opinion, a quality education is therefore the civil rights issue of the 21st century.

Precious Lord and Savior I come to you with praise and adoration because you are a good God full of mercy and forgiveness. You have forgiven all of our sins and remember them no more! You supply all of our needs and pour your blessings upon our family and homeschool. You care about our little world, our home, our everyday ordinary lives even while you know we are but dust. You allow me to come to You with each small question, before each subject that we study…even Algebra. How awesome you are Lord being the master mathematician. Surely, our family will trust You to help us. Lord I praise You because your strength is made perfect in my weakness…my insecurities…my impatience. I will trust you with our homeschool, our children, our family. I doubt myself everyday….but I do not doubt You Lord and know that You can be trusted with our lives. You are faithful even when we are not. You are faithful to complete the work You have begun in us even when we fail so much of the time. We will glorify you our King because we know that any measure of success is because of You.
Oh Lord as I navigate through each new season of homeschooling, it sometimes feels as though I’m walking in the darkness especially during these highschool years. Your holy word reminds me that if I commit my works unto you that my thoughts will be established. Your word reminds me that I can ask in faith for wisdom and you will not deny this but will give it freely.
I thought this message by Ken Ham was a good one for believers to take note of. In the past sharing the gospel was easier in some ways because of a certain consensus that existed in the general population. Most folks believed in God, perhaps even the 10 commandments. Many had a general knowledge of Christianity. Charles Darwin’s theories were not a consideration because even non-religious folks believed in a creator. Sharing today may be somewhat complicated and require more of us in order to be understood by a very lost culture. What do you think about this message? ~Anne

I used to watch MSNBC once in a while just so I could hear the liberal point of view. Now, I do not. My eyes are wide open these days and I understand that progressives will never even listen to an opposing opinion. They are intolerant and do not believe in free speech at all. They practice group-think and reject a free exchange of ideas. Nevertheless I wanted to post what one MSNBC host believes about your children. These folks are not even attempting to hide their Marxist ideologies anymore.
